Principal's Message

Dear Parents, Students and Community,
I am excited to have the opportunity to work a second year as Butterfield’s principal. I feel that we had a very successful year last year and look forward to working with the staff, the students and with you again.
Early projections indicate that we did well on our API and AYP goals last year. We want to continue that momentum and strive to do even better this year. With your help, the effort of the students and dedication of the teachers we will reach even higher goals.
If we work together as a team the home and school will put forth their best effort to ensure each student’s success. Parents can help the school by:
- Becoming involved in your child’s educational growth.
- You can do this by making sure your child is physically rested and mentally ready to learn new lessons everyday with enthusiasm.
- Make sure he/she comes to school on time, everyday.
- Set aside some time each day to review your child’s school work.
- Listen to your child read as many times a week as possible.
- Encourage your child to do their best and to ask for help if they don’t understand the explanations or concepts.
- Become involved in our parent groups ( School Site Council, English Learner Advisory Council, or the Booster Club).
- Meet with your child’s teacher to review his/her progress. If you detect problems do not wait until report card grades go out.
- Work as a team with the teacher so the child sees a united front.
- By working together we will not only see our school reach great heights but will ensure that each child is learning to their maximum potential.
I look forward to meeting you and working with you. It is an honor and a privilege to serve Butterfield’s community.
Respectfully,
Dr. Robert Romero Principal
