Mission / Vision
Butterfield Enriches Students’ Thoughts
Butterfield School is a learning community where all students are given the time and support to develop the skills, abilities, and attitudes necessary to achieve their B.E.S.T. academic success.

Your Best, Our Best, The Best!

Butterfield Vision Statement Butterfield staff will work to develop our students’ potentials for learning by providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment where children, parents and staff are respected (valued).

We will ensure an optimum learning environment for every child by continually developing professional expertise, pursuing collaborative approaches, and facilitating communication among staff, students, family and the community.

Our learning community will work together to have common goals and achievements. Principals, teachers, students, and parents will have learning opportunities while fostering an informed community where all members feel heard, supported and involved.

We will use student data to make decisions regarding teaching and learning. We will encourage students to be actively engaged in their own learning, demonstrate personal responsibility and respect individual differences.

In order to advance our shared vision of an exemplary school we will:
  • Involve parents in the education of their children by keeping them informed of student progress and offering suggestions for assisting their students.
  • Provide an inviting classroom environment for students – an environment with clear expectations, consistent consequences, and specific, articulated, academic goals.
  • Help all students achieve the intended outcomes of the curriculum by addressing their individual needs and learning styles.
  • Use methods of assessment that enables us to monitor the learning of individual students.
  • Collaborate with one another and our students so that we can achieve our collective goals more effectively.
  • Demonstrate our commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
  • Promote a positive school climate by modeling the qualities and characteristics that we hope to instill in our students.
